Hello friends, family and fine people of the internet. Welcome to our blog. In planning for our trip we knew we would need a way to stay in touch with everyone and allow you all to get all the late breaking Deiter news that you crave. Since this is our first big trip around the world (and first blog) we figure this goes one of two ways. Glass half full: Our witty yet informative blog posts allow you all to use the magic of the internet to travel the world with us, you tell your friends and they tell their friends and next thing you know the corporate fat cats at Big Travel throw us some coin for beer money. Glass half empty: This whole thing blows up in our face and you use nice pictures like the one above in a campaign get us sprung from jail in Fake-Min-Astan or to remember what I looked like before I got bit by an elephant and grew tusks. Ultimately we'll settle for something in the middle where we use this thing to share our trip and not feel so far away from all of you. As our official departure date isn't until October we will be using this summer to work out the kinks with this Blog and describe some of planning that went into this whole crazy operation in case any of you want to embrace your inner Deiter and set off around the globe.
